On The Frontline
Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, FL
September 21, 2021- June 12, 2022
This exhibition brings together five Miami-based artists to create a series of portraits honoring those on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
These portraits, created in conjunction with the collection of interviews and images, represent the artist’s attempt to honor and embody the spirit and nature of these individuals.
Katerin Echavarria. I am in the environment services department and I have been working here for 4 years. I am from Cuba, all my family is in Cuba and I moved here about 5 years ago. I love when I go into patients rooms to clean and the patient tells me I do an excellent job. My favorite thing to do is to be with my son at home. It was a great surprise for me that you wanted to include me in this project. I hope everything goes well.
